Schedule of Fees and Charges

Historically Travel Agents have received commissions by airlines, hotels, car hire companies and other service providers. This commission formed the sole or major income stream for travel professionals.  Over time this traditional structure has changed considerably, and like other service industries, it has become commonplace for Agents to receive little or no commission from airlines and other operators.  This has fundamentally changed the way that Travel Professionals receive their income and created great transparency in the industry.

When you choose to use the services of a Travel Professional you can be assured that we are finding the best possible service to meet your expectations, rather than the service that will pay us the highest commissions.  Rather than hide our income source in the quote, we itemize our service fees and charges so you know exactly what you are paying for.  This is now common practice in the Travel Industry, both here in Australia and internationally.

Schedule of Fees and Charges

The following fees and charges are a guide, and subject to change at any time depending on changes introduced regularly by suppliers and the time and circumstances of the service provided to you.  All charges are shown in Australian Dollars.

Consultations and Itinerary Preparation

Initial consultation – – – $70 (for the first hour or part thereof)

Prepare and write Itinerary plus one further consultation – – – $125

These fees will be refunded against any paid booking that exceeds $5,500 excluding flights.

Bookings – Airfare

All domestic airfares within Australia, South West Pacific (incl New Zealand), USA domestic and travel within Europe do not pay commissions to agents.  Therefore booking fees apply:

International Booking Fee – – – $75 per person

International Frequent Flyer bookings – – – $100 per person plus taxes

Domestic Reservation Fee – – – $45 per person

Domestic Frequent Flyers bookings – – – $55 per person plus taxes

Accommodation, Rail, Car and Coach Booking Fees

Accommodation, Rail, Car and Coach bookings – – – $45 per person

Cruise Bookings

Cruise Bookings are charged at the time of booking are then credited to your final account when you book with us.  In the event that you cancel your booking, they are not refunded to you.

Cruise Booking – – – $95 plus wholesalers deposit

Travel Packages

File Fees are charged at the time of booking are then credited to your final account when you book with us.  In the event that you cancel your booking, they are not refunded to you.

International File Fee – – – $145 plus wholesaler’s deposit

Domestic File Fee – – – $70 plus wholesaler’s deposit

Changes to Bookings

The most common reason travellers incur extra fees and charges when travelling is when information is provided that is incorrect or incomplete, particularly names.  It is essential that you provide us with a scanned copy of your passport, showing the spelling of your name, and details of your Date of Birth and Citizenship when you consult with us.  This will enable us to correctly book your flights and other services.  Many airlines will no longer accept any bookings (or hold seats on planes) without this information.


Amendments

Extra courier charges may apply when tickets are reissued. These charges will be your responsibility as well as the fee listed below:

Domestic airline ticket reissue – – – $55 plus airline fees and charges

International airline ticket reissue – – – $75 plus airline fees and charges

Name Changes – – – $75 plus airline fees and changes

Hotel bookings – – – $15 per amendment plus supplier fees and charges

Car Hire booking – – -$15 per amendment plus supplier fees and charges

Rail Bookings – – – $15 per amendment plus supplier fees and charges

Cancellations

Travel Packages – – – $150 plus suppliers fees and charges

Accommodation, Rail, Car and Coach bookings – – – $45 per person plus suppliers fees and charges

Cruise Booking – – – $95 per person plus suppliers fees and charges

Domestic Airfares – – – $55 per person plus suppliers fees and charges

International Airfares – – – $300 per booking plus suppliers fees and charges.

Note that all booking fees are non-refundable in the event that you cancel your travel. We strongly advise you to purchase Travel Insurance at the time you plan your travel.

Credit Card Fees and Charges

We welcome payment by credit card and EFTPOS.  However, we reserve the right to charge a fair and reasonable surcharge to cover the expense of processing these transactions. As a general guide, these fees are between 1%-3% of the total value of the transaction (incl GST).  You are welcome to make payment by direct deposit to avoid these fees.
